"Flitterings"
This triptych, entitled “Flitterings”, was completed in May of 2020. I’d not created any new easel paintings since 2013 due to various debilitating events, including a series of strokes. I hadn’t been able to hold a pen to draw or a paintbrush to paint.
I’d started working at drawing with large oil pastels in February of 2020, and by mid-May I discovered I’d regained enough dexterity to again hold and manipulate a paintbrush. I ordered an easel and spent my covid-19 isolation working at it.
All of the art you see on these pages has been created since that time. I started painting with acrylics and have now transitioned to water-soluble oils, sometimes mixed with acrylics. “Flitterings” has flown into the collection of one of my sisters..

Or, you may contact me to suggest alternate organization to whom you would like to make a payment. At present I am not selling my artwork for personal financial benefit. I suggest a contribution for each piece, but if that doesn’t fit your budget, please feel free to contact me to discuss what might. If you are not able to pick up the piece here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I would need you to reimburse me for shipping in addition to the payment you make to a 501(c)(3) organization. You may email me at hughes-luing@msn.com.
